Here’s why you should insure your wedding

12 Aug

Planning your big day should be a lot of fun. However, there are many different elements to organise, not to mention costs to be considered. Your wedding will be one of the best days of your life, but many don’t prepare for if things don’t go to plan. Unforeseen problems, such as extreme weather conditions, damaged bridal gowns and the flowers not turning up are all possibilities.

Wedding insurance will give you peace of mind that should something go wrong, you won’t be left out of pocket. We’re taking a look at some of the scenarios that a wedding policy will financially protect you from, so you can focus on your special day.

1. Your wedding venue cancels

If your wedding venue were to cancel on you, say they were to have a fire, flood or go bankrupt, wedding insurance will cover you to rearrange your big day. This would include replacement suppliers for the new date.

2. Your suppliers let you down

If one of your pre-booked suppliers, such as those supplying your cake, flowers, photos, transport and music don’t show up or something is damaged, you will be covered for any deposits you have paid, or additional costs you acquire.

3. If certain items get lost, stolen or damaged

Wedding insurance will cover you if your rings, cake, flowers, bridal gown, suit or wedding gifts get lost, stolen or damaged. The duration of the time of cover depends on the item and the level of cover you take out.

4. You can’t get your photos or videos

If your photographer or videographer can’t provide you with your photos or videos because of a technical fault or that they fail to turn up on the day, you will be covered.
