Thomas Carroll recognise that supporting the mental wellbeing of our employees is as important for both individuals and the company. Promoting and protecting mental wellbeing is important for individuals’ physical health, social wellbeing and productivity.

Addressing workplace mental wellbeing can help strengthen the positive, protective factors of employment, reduce risk factors for mental ill health and improve general health. A positive, supportive culture for mental wellbeing is important for all employees and therefore should be applied across the Group. Important aspects of mental health and wellbeing includes:

  • Providing information and raising awareness
  • Management skills to deal with issues around mental health and stress effectively
  • Providing a supportive work environment
  • Offering assistance, advice and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem or returning to work after a period of absence due to mental health problems.

Busy, modern lifestyles and unpredictable environmental factors can make it a challenge to maintain good health and wellbeing. From building healthy relationships with family, friends and colleagues, to understanding the importance of physical health, mental health and work-life balance, there six steps worth considering.
