Account Broker - Newport

We are looking to recruit an Account Broker to join our thriving Newport Team.

The successful candidate will ideally have two years broking or underwriting experience.

Summary of main responsibilities and activities:

– Interaction with prospects and clients to collect and collate information in respect of new business enquiries, renewals and mid-term adjustments
– Preparation of presentations and submissions to insurers and suppliers
– Negotiate policy terms, conditions, premium and income
– Review market results, analyse information gathered and undertake sufficient research, to make suitable insurer and product recommendations and demonstrate competency by explaining the extent of cover
– Production and presentation of new business quotation and renewal terms
– Provide advice to clients and prospects on an ongoing basis in respect of current insurance policies and additional insurance products for consideration
– Arrange cover to comply with the client instructions
– Process new business, renewal and mid-term adjustments efficiently, effectively and in accordance with FCA and Thomas, Carroll procedures
– Check all documentation for accuracy before issuing to clients or appropriate parties
– Debt management work to ensure premiums and fees are collected and allocated appropriately and keep line manager informed of any current, potential or perceived problems with bad debts
– Assist the Finance Team with any accounting queries, the allocation of cash received and settlement of accounts
– Maintain accurate client and prospect records
– Build good working relationships with insurers, clients and prospects
– Assist colleagues in the completion of their duties
– Direct leads to other companies within the Thomas, Carroll Group
– Undertake and participate in work related projects as requested

Commercial Claims Executive - Swansea

With a significant acquisition and continued growth in our business, we are seeking a Commercial Claims Executive to join our team.

The preferred candidate would have at least two years commercial insurance experience, gained from within an underwriting, broking or claims role.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

-Assisting clients with claims and cover enquiries and submit claims to insurers within timescales, ensuring that the claim comes to a satisfactory conclusion, efficiently and within the Thomas, Carroll procedures
-Responsible for checking the validity of claims before submission to insurers
-Ensuring that all required documentation is made available for the speedily resolution of the claim
-Negotiating interim payments with loss adjusters and insurers as appropriate
-Ensuring claims estimates and reserves are up to date and review periodically with insurers
-Preparation of claims reports to executives, clients and insurers
-Maintaining accurate client and prospect records
-Building good working relationships with insurers, clients and prospects
-Assisting colleagues in the completion of their duties
-Directing leads to other companies within the Thomas, Carroll Group
-Undertaking and participating in work related projects as requested

The position is full time within our Swansea office.

Account Broker - Legal Indemnities (Caerphilly)

We are seeking an account broker to join our legal indemnities team. The successful candidate should have either a background in property conveyancing or a law degree. Full training would be provided.

Main Responsibilities:

-To develop and maintain relationships with lawyers, clients and prospective clients nationally, developing the existing panel and initiating contact with prospective firms
-Development and growth of an account of clients to predetermined targets
-Represent the company at external and professional functions
-Control of premium collection and aged debtors relating to the account
-Interaction with prospects and clients to collect and collate information in respect of new business enquiries
-Preparation of presentations and submissions to insurers and suppliers
-Overseeing the broking of risks to insurers and suppliers
-Negotiate policy terms, conditions, premium and income
-Review market results, analyse information gathered and undertake sufficient research, to make suitable insurer and product recommendations and demonstrate competency by explaining the extent of cover
