Chairman John Moore Retires After 40 Years With Thomas Carroll

6 Dec

It is with mixed emotions that today we announce the retirement of John Moore, Thomas Carroll’s Chairman and leader for almost 40 years.

Throughout a journey that began in the early 80s, John’s passion and guidance has led Thomas Carroll towards the business it has become today.

In a statement on LinkedIn, John reflected on an exciting and fulfilling career:

“The remarkable team of colleagues, the awards and achievements, the loyal client friends, the challenge of the inevitable difficult periods, the thrilling mergers and acquisitions, the evolving business plans, the regional ambitions but through it all the sustainable profitable growth.”

John also reflects on Thomas Carroll’s Chartered status, partnerships with clients and insurers, commitment to employee development, claims responsibility for clients and much more in his touching tribute.

His achievements serve as a reminder of his commitment to the insurance industry and his contribution to raising the standards of professionalism. These include terms as President of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Cardiff and National President of the CII, directing Thomas Carroll towards numerous accolades, such as Broker of the Year, Broker of the Decade and being named a Sunday Times Best Company to Work For. Not to mention an MBE for services to the financial services sector and charitable services to Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice.

John Moore said:

“From my early days with the great Evan Thomas… always been proud and privileged to be part of the TC family and to all my colleagues, friends, clients and business contacts… thank you for riding the big dream with me.”

Commenting on the retirement, Chief Executive Officer Rhys Thomas said:

“It is John’s passion, drive and focus on people that makes him stand out. It is a mark of him as a person that he has been able to leave an impression on every one of us in the group. He has provided guidance to prepare each and every one of us for the future. Thank you.”

We are delighted that John will remain with the business as a consultant and mentor, but for now, we would like to thank him for his tireless support over the years and wish him all the best.
