Death in service cover can be provided by an employer and gives a lump sum payment to an employee’s dependents in the event of death. Regardless of their state of health, this cover is considered to be a low cost, high value benefit.

A death in service scheme can provide employees with a substantial level of financial protection without medical evidence.

Importantly, the cover also provides families with peace of mind and financial reassurance. Death in service is normally three times the employee’s salary amount and payable outside an employee’s estate, free of inheritance tax.
