16 May

We are excited to announce that we have appointed Mark Sullivan as Managing Director of Thomas Carroll’s Swansea office, affirming our business’ success to date and plan to grow our presence in the city and surrounding areas in the next 5 years.

Living locally in Alltwen, Mark joined Thomas Carroll in 2010 as an Account Executive from Jelf Insurance Brokers and was later made a Director of Thomas Carroll Brokers Swansea, our business insurance arm.

With more than 30 years of commercial insurance experience, Mark has a wealth of knowledge across a variety of business sizes and sectors, ranging from property and construction to life sciences and manufacturing risks.

Mark Sullivan said:

“It is exciting to be part of Thomas Carroll’s future growth ambitions and I am extremely proud to be the first Managing Director at Thomas Carroll Brokers Swansea.

We enjoy strong working relationships with our loyal client base and the local business community and are one of only a few Chartered Insurance Brokers in Swansea.

Adapting our business and striving for continuously high standards has contributed to Thomas Carroll’s success in recent years. We are always looking at ways in which we can further enhance our broking expertise for the benefit of our customers.

Further developing specialist areas such as bonds, life science, care, charity and motor trade will remain a priority and give us scope to develop.”

Based in Enterprise Park, Thomas Carroll was recently named Wales’ eighth best company to work for by the Sunday Times. This followed a series of award-wins that include securing UK Insurance Broker of the Year at both the 2018 British Insurance Awards and 2018 UK Broker Awards.

Mr Sullivan added:

“We are lucky to have an experienced, knowledgeable team in Swansea with well over 100 years of combined experience.

Born and bred in Swansea, I am extremely proud of what we have built and continue to build at Thomas Carroll. With the ambition to grow our team, I would be interested to hear from individuals looking to further their career.

I’m looking forward to this opportunity and enhancing Thomas Carroll’s offering to local clients and professionals in the area.”

Commenting on the appointment, Chief Executive Officer Rhys Thomas said:

“Having proactively contributed to the success of our Swansea office for almost 10 years, Mark has proved his ability to head up our Swansea team.

We invest in succession planning to actively develop future leaders. Mark shares our ambitions, what makes us different and maintaining our independence.

Our people are our greatest asset. Creating a platform for our people to learn, grow and develop is the secret to our long-term sustainability and will help us achieve our goal to expand.”
