Supporting Makers Guild Wales and the National Eisteddfod Launch Event

31 Jul

Thomas Carroll are proud to be supporting Makers Guild Wales and the launch event of the 2018 National Eisteddfod on Friday 3rd August.

We will be heading to Cardiff Bay this Friday for the launch evening of ‘Coronau’, hosted by Crafts in the Bay. In addition to a talk from guest speaker Betsan Motses, Chief Executive of the National Eisteddfod, there will be an exhibition of the National Eisteddfod Bardic Crowns in the gallery.

The Crowning of the Bard, where the crown is awarded to the winner of the ‘Pryddest’ (poetry written in free verse) competition at the National Eisteddfod, has been a tradition since 1867. Designed and made by members of Makers Guild Wales, the crowns truly are a sight to behold.

If you would like to see the Bardic Crowns for yourself, they will be on display to the public between the 4th – 11th of August at Crafts in the Bay, in Cardiff Bay.
