Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Employment Law changes from April 2021 are fairly sparse.
IR35, which was due to come in last April will now come into force. This means that employers need to ensure that any contractors or self-employed individuals that are undertaking work for them are not actually employees and therefore liable for PAYE costs.
The statutory amounts for Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, Adoption Leave, Shared Parental Leave and Parental Bereavement Leave will increase from £151.20 to £151.97
The National Minimum Wage will change as follows:
National Living Wage – Current Rate (£8.72) / New Rate (£8.91)
21-22 Years Old – Current Rate (£8.20) / New Rate (£8.36)
18-20 Years Old – Current Rate (£6.45) / New Rate (£6.56)
