Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Update

28 Jun

From 1st July 2021, it will be mandatory for any work carried out under ECO3 to be compliant with PAS 2030:2019 and PAS 2035:2019.

The UK Government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, which aims to reduce carbon emissions and tackle energy poverty to make homes and the lives of people who live within them healthier, has been in place since 2013. Whilst the scheme has developed since its inception, its latest iteration, ECO3, is set to run through to 31st March 2022.

ECO3 requirements state that projects within the ECO environment, involving energy improvements in people’s homes, must be overseen and lodged into the TrustMark Data Warehouse by a TrustMark registered Retrofit Coordinator. The purpose is to provide protection for the consumer by securing a complete audit trail.
