We opened the doors to our office on Broad Street in Hereford to be closer to our clients over 5 years ago. Working with a variety of businesses, from small, independent firms to larger organisations, our Hereford team are at the heart of a thriving business community in Herefordshire. Douglas Spencer, Regional Director
Dougie graduated with a degree in Geography and Economics from the University of Birmingham in 2007. Following graduation and a year abroad, he has been working in the insurance industry for almost a decade.
Having worked at Thomas Carroll since 2015, Dougie enjoys meeting and assisting numerous local businesses across a variety of industries. Recently, he was appointed as Regional Director of our office in Hereford to grow the Thomas Carroll presence in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas and, as he puts it, build relationships that last many years.
Away from the office, Dougie follows most sports and enjoys playing cricket for his local club. He also enjoys walking in the hills (weather permitting!).

Wendy Jones, Account Manager
Wendy has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years. For over 5 years, she has been firmly placed within our Hereford team, using her wealth of knowledge and experience to provide new and old clients with a personal, reliable service built on good advice and trust.
In her own time, Wendy likes travelling, walking and pilates. More recently, she has been enjoying spending time with her first grandchild.

Alex Spicer, SME Account Executive
Alex joined Thomas Carroll in August 2017, having previously worked for both personal and commercial insurance brokers. Experienced and Cert Qualified, Alex advises and places insurance for small business risks, such as shops, offices, property owners, hospitality and tradespeople.
Currently learning golf, Alex enjoys being active and spending time in Hereford where he lives locally with his wife and young son. Keen to integrate into the local area and build professional relationships, he is always on the lookout for networking and social events to get involved with.

Josh James, Account Broker
Josh joined Thomas Carroll in 2019, having worked for a personal lines broker for 7 years. He works closely with Wendy and Dougie to provide a well-rounded, professional and friendly service, whilst working towards his qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Outside of work, Josh likes to cook, takes a keen interest in history and most of all enjoys spending time with his young son.
