Amidst political uncertainty, the Tenant Fees Bill 2017-19 has somewhat slipped under the radar. However, after a third reading in the House of Lords on the 15th January, it came into effect on the 1st June 2019. The main change sees a reduction in the amount private renters have to pay upfront (as a security deposit) for annual rentals up to £50,000.
