Let’s celebrate!

This year marks half a century since Thomas Carroll first opened its doors, and what a 50 years it has been. We have made many wonderful memories and reached copious amounts of milestones over the years, but we’re committed to making our 50th year the best yet.

Honouring the past, committed to the future

We are using our 50th birthday year to celebrate the good times and do more of what’s important to us by escalating our charitable efforts. Giving back will form a big part of our celebrations and we intend to raise money for as many charities as possible, including Tŷ Hafan, Velindre, Maggie’s, Llamau the Huggard Centre and more, and support those in our local communities.

From Thomas Carroll organised events and fundraisers to our people’s own individual charitable initiatives, we plan to work together, super charge our charitable giving and have some fun along the way to reach our ambitious target.

Making a difference on our doorstep

As big advocates of giving back to our community, in 2019, we launched the Thomas Carroll Charitable Trust so that we could best support community initiatives. Welcoming support requests from clients, business contacts, employees and friends, we seek individuals or local communities that could sincerely benefit from some financial help, to make life feel a little easier in times of need.

Through the Trust, we encourage our employees to get involved in charitable activities, support our most loved charities and raise money within our regions for the smaller, local charities who sincerely appreciate our ongoing contributions. The TCCT has a dedicated committee who will assess requests on a case-by-case basis and try to help as many people as possible.

Our fundraising in action

Where it all began

It all started in 1972 when founders Evan Thomas and Terry Carroll were approached by the Directors of Western Brokers in Cardiff with an offer to purchase their commercial account.

Jumping at the idea of starting their own business, they accepted the offer and set out to find Thomas Carroll’s first home, which ultimately led to a lease being signed for 3 rooms on the second floor at Queens Chambers, Queens Arcade.

The years to follow saw the business grow dramatically with more acquisitions, new office locations and many great moments in the Thomas Carroll journey.
